U8 Smartwatch Review

We go hands on, on the U8 Smartwatch. Probably the most complete smartwatch package for the lowest possible price.

Pros:

-Price (starting at just 15$ is hard to beat)

-Design and Build (Looks decent and is well built)

-Comfortable to wear

-Really responsive touchscreen

-Battery (can last up to 5 days without charging)

-Notifications on your wrist

-Viewing text messages and call answering from your wrist

Cons:

-Pairing with the phone can be a little tricky the first time

-No third party apps (not Android Wear)

-Completely plastic chassis (apart from the back)

-Limited customization as watch faces go and ringtones as well

-Fitness data syncing with the phone doesn't work (at least on my watch)

-In noisy places (such as the airport) calling from the watch may be kind of difficult.

-Annoying and loud water notifications you can't turn off (I think that is only on my watch for some reason)

-Notifications don't vibrate and open by themselves, you have to open the Notification menu to see them (at least on my watch)

Verdict: The U8 is a really great product for it's price tag of 15-30$ for anyone who wants to fiddle around with the smart watch concept. If you hit a good version of the U8 you can even use it as a daily driver. But for power users who are looking to settle more permanently on a smartwatch, the U8 is not intended for that.

Songs:

-Distortion & Alex Skindro - Entropy (Intro and Outro music)

-Tobu - Good Times (The music the watch was playing)

-Pascal Plate Royalty free jazz loop (the background music)
